Our IHSA Hunt Seat Show Team gives riders the opportunity to represent the University of Rochester while competing against other colleges and universities throughout Zone 2, Region 1 of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA).

IHSA competitions are unique because riders do not need to own or bring their own horse. Instead, horses are provided by the host school and randomly assigned to riders shortly before they compete. Riders compete in divisions based on their previous riding and showing experience, making IHSA accessible to a wide range of experience levels.

Our Hunt Seat riders compete in equitation on the flat and/or over fences, earning both individual and team points throughout the season. Riders may also have the opportunity to qualify for postseason competitions, including Regionals, Zones, and Nationals.
